Music & Social Media - #ashtag This!

In an age of Social Media saturation, there must be some way for bands to use it to their advantage, right?  Of course there is.  Hashtagging alone has changed the way we categorize the priority of various information.  Hashtagging tells us what to care about, and who else is caring along with us.  Hashtagging marks territory; it lures fans into the digital world created by a band.  A good hashtag begs for its story to be told, like a clever and obscure tattoo.

But what is it?  How can bands use it "properly", and to its peak effectiveness?  #ashtag This! explores the concept of hashtagging in detail, from the ground up.  Even those not completely savvy in the realm of Social Media will be comfortable in this panel, as experienced panellists simply and succinctly discuss everything from what hashtags are to how they can make all the difference for fresh, undiscovered talent finding their place in the digital realm.

Startups Take Over!!

Startup companies have been making a pretty major splash in the North American marketplace, in just about every industry with an online presence.  Even the word: "Startups"…it carries with it a different meaning than it once did.  No longer to startup companies toil away for years and years, scratching their way to one surface or another.  Now, when we hear the word "Startups", we think--almost automatically--of the hundreds of small companies that are bought out every year for millions of dollars.  And the music industry online is no different.  These smaller companies are able to do things that bigger companies can't do, while offering a more consumer-friendly support system.  They utilize revolutionary and easy-to-use software in some instances, or simply treat their customers better in others.

Startups Take Over will address some of these companies, and discuss what they do to make themselves stand out.  Find out what steps are the right steps to take, and, potentially, how your startup can be as successful as some of the heavy hitters.
