Indie Week Canada 2016

And the winner is…….Moon Tan and you!

From the opening night gala at The Burroughes on Tuesday to the awards show at The Jack Daniel’s Music House at The Mod Club on Sunday night until the wee hours of Monday morning, when the last of the Indie Week venues finally turned off the lights and took a well deserved rest.

There were performers in The Path, RiFF movies at Jackman Hall, Indie 101 panels and classrooms at The Bond Place Hotel (and even in one of our venues) a brand new Indie Beer Fest featuring great brews and great music, our innagrual tech day at the YouTube headquarters in conjunction with CFC/Ideaboost, and a week in Toronto like no other.

Moon Tan was the top act this year with runner-ups MunziO and Them&Us all of which played great shows all week. Hired Gun won Reel Indie Film Fest’s Best Feature. Et tu, Dude? won Reel Indie Film Fest’s Best short film and Home by Ginger Ale & The Monowhales won best music video. Congratulations to all our top acts who really gave it their all this year.
